Puzzle #28 · Thursday, October 22

Seven questions.
How big can you ride?

A daily equipment finance challenge at CLFP level, judged like a surf contest. Every answer is a wave: choose how hard you go (cruise, charge, or send it), and right answers in a row build bigger waves. Five judges score each one, your seven waves add up to a score out of 57.0, and when you finish you see how you rank among today's surfers.

60 seconds a question · cruise to play it safe or send it to go big · a financial calculator is fair game in round 3, if you're quick. One scored session per device per day; replays are practice.

How to play

What each choice scores on a 5 ft wave
On 5 ftRightWrong
Cruise3.82.5streak kept
Charge5.01.8streak kept
Send it6.30.0streak lost

A bigger wave multiplies them: 10% more for each size up, up to 60% more on 30 ft, where sending it and landing is a perfect 10. A numeric answer lands at 40% accuracy or better, and the closer it is, the more of that score it earns.

Concept, Scenario, Credit, Portfolio, Wildcard
Multiple choice. Right, and you land it; wrong, and you wipe out.
Calculation
Work it out: payment, rate, or present value. Full accuracy within a tight tolerance (0.1% on dollars, 0.02 points on rates), then less the further off you are. A financial calculator is fair game.
Estimate
Ballpark it. Scored on a log scale: within 10% is full accuracy, 2× off is about half, 4× off is zero.

Ride the curve. When you finish, you'll see how your score stacks up against everyone who played today.

Rides play without flips, spins, or tumbling, waves rise in place instead of rolling in, and the sea stays still.
